Artistic, creation, making, groundbreaking, a biotope of knowledge sharing. These are words you could use to describe the Summer Academy.
All are refreshing, intense and disruptive also apply. Participation and research into this partly determined this year's programme. How do you create and how do you do that together? How do you share experience, techniques or even the questions you woke up with or ask yourself? Together with other participants you will search and find who knows.
For more than twenty years, De Veerman and Destelheide have been working together to offer around 100 creative makers a framework within which they can immerse themselves in an artistic studio. Searching for a way that they can live up to themselves.
Artistic research, experimentation and creation are central. Not striving for an end result, but a refuge while on the road and then moving on.
Multiple workshops in various disciplines. For seven days, it's a party!
In the green surroundings of Dwerp, near Brussels.
An artistic working week in which you are guided by professional coaches and find inspiration in yourself, the other person and the environment.
But in which you mainly act yourself.
For everyone from 18 years old with a hunger for creation.
And certainly: for those who do not want to be held by the artistic-creative hand, but are looking for challenges to refuel.

De Veerman (The Ferryman) is an artistic place where, out of love for and belief in the arts, people are being challenged and stimulated to explore new shores. Throughout Flanders the team focuses on a variety of artistic disciplines: dance, image, theatre, media, music, literature...
The docks where we moor our boat are inhabited by infants, children, teenagers, adults, new and old Belgians, unconventional target groups, in short: we include all the elements of a richly diversified society.
De Veerman is certified as an arts organisation by decree of the Flemish ministry of culture and has a focus on education and participation within the arts.
Destelheide is a unique residence center for youth, art and creation in Dworp, with a clear vision: to offer an inspiring and enriching stay in a beautiful green environment. We welcome young people, youth work groups, educational institutions and socio-cultural organisations from home and abroad.
Dharts, Destelheide’s art education service, creates an artistic living environment by organising rehearsal weeks for artists, inspiring exhibitions, artistic trainings, international meetings and projects with organisations from Brussels.
